I've just got back from a couple of days away with friends who were nearly as shocked as I was when I left their Christmas presents with them! We usually get around to exchanging gifts in about the following May.... (Credit must go to my wife for getting me that organised!)

Advent is nearly upon us, and many of us will start the countdown to Christmas with calendars and chocolates etc. If you fancy an online version, why not try this one showcasing creative young talent from around the world? Our preparations for Christmas start on Sunday as we mark the beginning of Advent.

This Week is relatively quiet with the regular groups happening, the details are below, and in two weeks time we have our first Carol service!

Today I'm at a Child Protection training evening run by the Diocese of Southwell.Please phone me if you want to come along, spaces are still available.

Tuesday I'm on my regular day off.

Wednesday Cafe Breathe will be happening at Toton Methodist from 7.00 pm, and I will be there this week!

Thursday I'm away for a couple of days but Showcase and Youth Club are both on as normal at George Spencer and Toton Methodist.

Friday Play and Praise and GYM Youth Club are both on as usual at Toton Methodist.

Sunday The usual morning groups for children and teenagers are on, as is Breathe Deeper for a games night at St Peter's from 7.00 pm. Toton Methodist is the venue for an Advent praise service at 6.00 pm.

Christmas stuff!

Thursday December 8th Youth and uniformed groups Christmas celebration

Sunday December 11th Our annual Toy Service at St Peter's, with toys going to local charities supporting local families.

Monday 12th to Friday 16th Hot Chocolate! We'll be serving hot chocolate to people walking to school/work all this week. I'm assuming it might actually be cold weather-wise by then....

Sunday 18th Carol Services at Toton Methodist at 6 pm and St Peter's at 8.00 pm with hot chocolate in the youth room at St Peter's in between.

Wednesday 21st I'll be in Costa (time to be confirmed) for a brew and a natter with whoever wants to pop in

Saturday 24th I'll be at all three Christingle services......

In the meantime, I hope your shopping, decorating and other preparing goes well!
