Well, December is here, and the Christmas celebrations kicked off in style last Thursday when 150 people came to St Peter's for a youth celebration, a great evening all round.
This week is a little quieter, but not hugely as we continue through to Christmas.
Monday Friends of Toton Fields, (Youth club is an affiliated group) are having their Christmas do at St Peter's, open to all, from 7 o'clock, featuring a cryptic picture garden quiz.
Tuesday Amy and I are both off for the day.
Wednesday George Spencer's CU and Starbucks are both on at the usual times in the usual places, we'll be there as well!
Thursday Sees me on a Food Hygiene course, Amy will be at Showcase, and we'll both be at Cafe Breathe in the evening.
Friday brings an end to the Play and Praise term in the afternoon, and both youth clubs are on at Toton Methodist Church in the evening.
Sunday brings about the annual Toy Services at both churches, where as part of the service we will be collecting toys and games to distribute to charities supporting families in the Nottingham area this Christmas. Both services are at 10.30 (There'll be more info about Christmas services on the invitation cards going out across Toton this week). The Breathe Deeper Christmas Games Night is on this Sunday evening as well. You bring the energy, we'll bring the games and the nibbles.
Christmas Parties will be looming thick and fast over coming weeks. The Youth Club Disco is on Friday December 18th (usual times for each group).
The Sleepout is happening again this year, supporting Framework in their work with the homeless in Nottingham. To sponsor the teenagers taking part you can visit http://www.justgiving.com/Breathe-Toton. It's overnight from the 19th to the 20th, we'll be sleeping outside in the grounds of Toton Methodist Church.
We'll be giving away Hot Chocolate again this year, each morning next week outside the Methodist Church to anyone on their way to school or work.
As we head towards the end of term and the excitement Christmas brings, think outside the box and have a different look at Christmas. You won't find a meerkat or The Stig (ask someone who was at the celebration last Thursday!) but you will find something of much more worth and interest!
God bless,
Andy
