Wow! What a start to the week. Several of us spent time this morning serving up 69 cups of hot chocolate to people on their way to work/school. There'll be more tomorrow, and read about it on the Evening Post website - http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/toton/Teens-Toton-hot-choc-handout/article-1601404-detail/article.html
The rest of this week looks like this, with Hot Choclate every morning:
Today: Bispham School are at St Peter's this afternoon for their Carol Concert.
Tuesday: Busy Bees are having their Christmas Party
Wednesaday: brings the last CU of term at George Spencer, with a bit of a party at lunchtime, and Starbucks in the afternoon. Chetwynd School are coming to St Peter's in the early evening for their Carol Concert.
Thursday: After hot chocolate there's the annual servers trip to Tesco for breakfast, leaving TMC at whatever time we get finished up, probably meeting in Long Eaton about 9.30. That afternoon Amy and I will be at the last Showcase of term, complete with Special Guest Dan and The Penguins. Cafe Breathe is on for the last time this term as well.
Friday: The last morning of this years hot chocolate giveaway, will we reach our target of 500? I'm in Bispham for carols and mince pies in the afternoon, and in the evening we've got the last evenig of youth club, with disco and daft games for both groups.
Saturday brings this years Sleepout in aid of Framework (www.frameworkha.org) when about 16 to 20 of us will be sleeping rough in the grounds of Toton Methodist Church to raise awareness of what it's like to sleep rough and raise some money for a charity that supports over 1,000 people in Nottinghamshire every day. You can donate online through http://www.justgiving.com/Breathe-Toton, which is our youth group Just Giving page. Donations there all go to Framework.
Sunday morning will see a few very sleepy and tired people sharing in the services at both Toton Churches about the Sleepout. Breathe Deeper is not on in the evening, but there are carol services at Toton Methodist at 6 pm and St Peter's at 8 pm.
Yep, it's a busy week, but I'm thoroughly looking forward to sharing with people in so amy different situations.
Christmas is coming, but the celebrations are here!
Andy
