Weekly email June 29th 2009

English schools like to mess with my brain! After 13 years over here, I'm getting used to the fact that the summer term finishes seriously late in July compared to Irish schools finishing in early June. Then, just as I get used to that, George Spencer start moving people up a year in July and not in September! HHHHEEELLLPPPP! Anyway, all the best to anyone starting a new school year today, and if you have just started Year 9, that means a chance for you to come to Cafe breathe on Thursdays as well. Read on! :D (Thanks to everyone at Showcase who educated me on "D" by the way.....)

This Week:
Monday is Ju Yeon's day off, I'm sitting at my PC today writing this and wading through a list of jobs, staring at the sunshine outside....
Tuesday sees me on the annual Glascott-Stoodley Golf Challenge (I'm one down after last years inaugural event) and Ju Yeon will be at Beavers in the evening.
Wednesday will see us both at CU at George Spencer and at Starbucks in the afternoon. I'll be around Toton most of the day as I'm at TMC in the morning wading through cupboards and tidying up "stuff" in the various youth club storage areas. We also have a table top (i.e. it has no legs of its own) snooker table going spare if anyone wants it. First come, first served!
Thursday brings Showcase at George Spencer in the afternoon and Cafe Breathe in the evening at TMC. Its from 7.00 til 8.30 for anyone in Year 9 and above, so if you have just moved up, drop in!
Friday brings us top Play and Praise, GYM and Breathe In, all at TMC.
Sunday sees me preaching at St P's, so I won't be involved in the morning group this week, though it will be happening, and Breathe Deeper is on at St P's from 7.00 til 8.30.

Other Stuff:
Given that most people have just changed school year, here's a reminder of what age groups the various groups we run are for:
Cafe Breathe - Year 9 and up
GYM - Year 3 to 6
Breathe In - Year 7 to 9 (ish until September!) (with an invite to Year 6's who have been part of GYM for the rest of this term)
Breathe Deeper - Year 7 and up
Sunday July 12th will be Ju Yeon's last Sunday with us before she returns to Korea for the summer and then starts her time in Bath on TFG+. We'll be saying farewell to her at the All Age Service that morning, and again at Breathe Deeper that evening, which we'll extend til 9.00 for anyone that wants to stay a bit longer and chat that evening.

Holiday Special:
I mentioned last night that Holiday Special will be needing some help with drama for the younger groups in the mornings, and one or two people were interested. The dates for your diary are Monday July 27th to Friday July 31st. Please get in touch with me for more info or to confirm you want to help!

It's turned into quite a long email this week, please do read it through and keep all the events in your prayers, and also keep Amy Pennenga in your prayers as she prepares to join us in late August for her TFG year.
