Ah, the sound of a pneumatic drill in the back garden. It's about the level of subtlety I have in the garden! There's a big hole now where there was a garage this morning, and three men are slowly ripping up the hardstanding it was on, giving me a wonderful chorus of broken concrete and pneumatics. Nearly as good as my singing!
Anyway, one is back from one's travels, and ready for a busy week, the highlight of which is the visit of the GSUS Live lorry to George Spencer. For more, click the link to their site: http://www.gsuslive.co.uk/. Other stuff in the email this wee includes Christmas parties, booking your place for the Sleepout and more, so read on!
This Week:
Monday - The Gsus Live lorry arrives at George Spencer
Wednesday - I'm at GS in the morning for a briefing on the Lorry, and then the CU meets at Lunchtime. Ju Yeon and I will be at Starbucks from 3 onwards
Thursday - Ju Yeon and I are the facilitators for the RE lessons using the lorry in the afternoon.
Friday - Ju Yeon and I are back at George Spencer, this time for the full day, so keep an eye out for us during the day. In the evening we've got GYM and Rock Solid at the usual times.
Sunday sees the usual morning groups and then the Alpha @ Breathe session in the evening.
Looking Ahead:
This day next week sees the 1st of December, and brings a month full of Christmas celebrations. Here are a few of the key dates and events from a youth point of view:
Friday 12th - Last night for GYM and Rock Solid, Christmas parties. More details to follow.
Sunday 14th - Alpha @ Breathe Christmas party. Please let me know what you want to do by this Sunday so we can organise a night out of that's what you want. That morning there are Toy Services at both churches.
Monday 15th - Friday 19th - The Hot Chocolate Giveaway is back, at Totom Methodist each morning. A chance to sahre a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas with people walking to school/work. See the posters at both churches for more info and to sign up.
Saturday 20th - It's the first Breathe Out Sleepout! Open to anyone currently in Year 7 or above and linked to Toton Churches, it's a chance to make a positive impact in the lives of others, raise money for Framework (www.frameworkha.org) and experience what it's like to sleep rough for a night. Bookings are now open for this! To book a place, please email me with "Breathe Out Sleepout" in the subject line to confirm your place. Spaces may be limited for this unique event, so please book now. First come, first served!
Wednesday 24th - It will really feel like Christmas by now, and it's time for the Christingle Services, @ 3 and 5 pm at St P's and @ 4 pm at TMC.
For now, that's enough for this week. There'll be more later on as I hear back from Framework, but in the meantime remember to
Breathe In, Breathe Deeper and Breathe Out!
God bless,
Andy
