FW: Weekly Email - June 16th 2008

Ah, the joy of Monday morning, added to the noise of a carpet being put down outside my door just now. Such fun!

This Week:

Monday – possible trip to Trent Bridge for the Twenty20 match, which starts @ 5.30 pm.

Tuesday – Showcase Plus @ George Spencer at lunchtime in Room 64, and in the morning, Maria and I are leading Assembly at Bispham Junior.

Wednesday – Maria is at Starbucks, but I’m not.

Thursday – Showcase in Base 4 @ George Spencer after school.

Friday – GYM and Rock Solid at the usual times, and we say farewell to Maria as it is her last session wit these groups.

Sunday – Breathe Worship Event @ TMC from 4 pm – games, BBQ and worship. See the posters and other emails for full details, and I’m running the 15 to 18’s group at church in the morning.

Week Beginning Monday June 23^rd:

Wednesday – No Starbucks. (OK, I’ll re-phrase that – we’re not there, the café will be open as usual!)

Summer Plans:

I know many of you will be heading off on holidays of various lengths and degrees of exoticness, but not many will be going for the full 6 weeks. Panic not! I will be organising some stuff to happen during the school holidays, Breathe will happen in some shape or form each week, if any of you adults on this email list would like to volunteer to help out one Sunday evening over the summer, please let me know. Loosely speaking, the Breathe sessions will run from 7-9 with an hour of games, outside when possible, a break for some nibbles and then a chilled out session based on a video, a youtube clip or something completely different, all with a Christian slant.

Among the one-off events will be an opportunity to explore what it is to get involved in some service opportunities. If you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in someone’s life, or make the world a better place, the journey will start this summer. Every journey starts with a step outside your front door. We’ll start local, who knows where the journey of service will take us?

I will also be in Starbucks most weeks at some point (not the same slot every week though), so if you want to pop in and chat about anything, and give me some ideas for the September term and beyond, let me know.
